In 2021 during the annual Air Max Day celebration on 26 March, we witnessed the return of a highly anticipated Nike classic, the Nike Air Max 90 NRG 'Bacon'. This bacon-inspired Air Max 90 colorway is a reissue of the 2004 original. The original was the result of a collaboration between Nike and Dave's Quality Meat, a New York sneaker boutique which no longer exists. Dave's Quality Meat was located in the so-called Meatpacking District and fittingly the shop was done in a butcher shop concept. The link to 'Bacon' is therefore quickly made. David Ortiz, the then founder and owner of DQM designed the now widely popular meat-coloured Air Max 90. 

Like its predecessor, this version comes in a premium version with a mix of leather and suede materials on the upper. The palette of different shades of red, brown, pink and white all over the shoe are perfectly balanced and clearly explain the tasteful title of this sneaker. 

For many, the Nike Air Max 90 NRG 'Bacon' belongs to the absolute top when it comes to best Air Max 90 releases ever.
