For the 35th anniversary of Air Max 1, Nike created the design for the Nike Air Max 1 'Design By Japan' in collaboration with the public. The 'Design in Japan' comes as a result of one of the campaigns that unfolded in 2022 through the SNKRS Japan app where the users were invited to customise their Air Max 1. The silhouette features a white mesh base, vibrant green smooth leather overlays and burnt orange heels. With a cream tongue matching the laces, the sneaker comes with a gold metal hangtag in the shape of an Air Max 1. The white signature Swoosh comes in white and completes the design together with the orange midsole and brown outsole.
