26 March 1987 is a date which means nothing to many people but to the Air Max enthusiast, this is not just any date. On this day Nike released the first Air Max; the Air Max 1. In 2022, 35 years later, this anniversary will be celebrated with the Nike Air Max 1 AMD 'La Ville Lumiere' - EU Exclusive.

The sneaker has a quiet base of white and grey. However, this is not what makes the sneaker so special; it's the materials used. The overlays are made of an iridescent material. The mudguard comes in a very light grey colour, almost beige. The biggest inspiration behind the design is Paris, La Ville Lumiere or the 'city of lights'. The text 'La Ville Lumiere' can be read on the outsole. The whole look is completed with a chain with the date 3.36, a Swoosh and a mini Air Max 1.

Besides the Air Max 1 La Ville Lumiere, which is only a European drop, Nike also came out with a special drop for Asia and America.
