The New Balance 1906D continues to explore the 'Refined Future' aesthetic, which has become widely known as the 'Protection Pack' look. Spearheaded by Yue Wu, the 'Refined Future' theme debuted on the New Balance 2002R in 2021 and has since appeared on several offerings from the Boston-based brand, including the recently-revived NB 1906D.

Two newly-surfaced pairs feature understated, tonal arrangements across their leather, mesh, and suede uppers, with 'Silver Metallic' and 'Eclipse' finishes taking on everything from the performance running-informed base layers to the frayed panels signature to Wu's conceptual collection. 

The latest offerings from New Balance nod to the 2000s with their retro running technology, including the N-lock system at the profiles and the New Balance 860v2's sole unit, which has been tried-and-proven in the past. Given the 'Refined Future' theme's play on time, the NB 1906D is a perfect canvas for the concept, going beyond the relic-inspired details across the upper.
