The 'Refined Future' style, sometimes referred to as the 'Protection Pack' appearance, includes the New Balance 1906D. This motif, created by Yue Wu, made its debut on the New Balance 2002R in 2021 and has since been used on a number of the company's products, such as the recently brought back NB 1906D.

The shoes' leather, mesh, and suede uppers have subtle tonal arrangements, with 'Silver Metallic' and 'Eclipse' finishes taking on everything from the foundation layers inspired by performance running to the frayed panels that are a hallmark of Wu's conceptual line. The N-lock mechanism at the profiles and the single unit of the New Balance 860v2 are two examples of the vintage running technology included in the brand's newest products, which pay homage to the 2000s.
