The adidas Originals Handball Spezial debuted in 1979 as a special design for handball players. However, the adidas Spezial model has become a beloved streetwear sneaker because of its vintage and retro feel. 
 
The upper of the adidas Originals Handball Spezial comes in a dominant dark blue colour. The hue can be seen in the suede base, the laces, on the tongue and finally also in the leather heel collar. adidas' famous Three Stripes logo can be seen on the side of the sneaker in a light blue colour. Above the three stripes, the silhouette's name can be read in golden letters. The heel tab and tongue label also come in the colour light blue. 
 
The sneaker is completed by a dark-coloured gum sole with adidas branding on the side.
