The Wave Never Left: Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Returns With Two New Colourways

Patta and Nike are bringing back one of the most recognisable Air Max collaborations of the decade with the new Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Wave’ pack, set to land during Spring/Summer 2026.

The Amsterdam-based brand’s signature wavy mudguard returns to the classic Air Max 1 silhouette, giving it a fresh look anchored in bold colour contrasts and a deeper nod to Patta’s heritage. First introduced in 2021, the ‘Wave’ design helped redefine what a collaborative Air Max 1 could look like, and these new iterations continue that spirit with contemporary palettes and subtle storytelling elements that appeal to both longtime fans and new sneaker enthusiasts alike.

A Closer Look at the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Wave’…

The newest ‘Wave’ pack leans heavily into ‘Hyper Crimson’, a vivid shade that resonates with Patta’s Dutch roots and sporting culture, while playing beautifully against staples like Pure Platinum and classic white. One of the upcoming colourways features a Pure Platinum upper with the exaggerated wavy mudguard dipped in Hyper Crimson and contrasted by a black Swoosh and creamy accents on the midsole and laces.

The second swaps the heavy crimson for a more restrained palette, placing Hyper Crimson on the Swoosh over a lighter grey and white base that lets the silhouette speak for itself without overwhelming the eye. Both pairs carry the distinctive sculptural mudguard that made the original ‘Wave’ so iconic, and include a special gold bracelet featuring Nike branding and the Surinamese flag – a quiet homage to Patta co-founders Edson Sabajo and Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt.

The Drop Date!

Official release details for the Patta x Air Max 1 ‘Wave’ pack will launch via Patta, Nike and select global retailers. While exact dates haven’t been locked in yet, early teasers from Patta’s social channels hint that the drop could coincide with early March.
