To round off the retro vibe of these kicks, a bright red and blue checkerboard label sits proudly on the tongue.

It’s official – the Nike Mac Attack is making an iconic comeback almost 40 years after its first appearance, and Nike pay homage to the person who made it all happen. None other than American tennis royalty, John McEnroe.
Known for his controversial temperament and impeccable left-handed serve, John McEnroe is recognised as one of the most legendary tennis players of all time. Bagging a total of seven Grand Slam single titles, including the likes of Wimbledon and US Open, McEnroe often shocked the world with his combative demeanour that differentiated him from competitors. Nike’s collaboration with the fiery player made for a charismatic pairing that drew attention to the OG Nike Mac Attack, easily identifiable amongst a court full of conventional white tennis shoes.
Travis Scott, as we know, is no stranger to the creative collaboration process, especially when it comes to the rapper’s long standing partnership with Nike. After initially releasing their first collaboration back in 2018 (Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 ‘Cactus Jack’), the influential partnership have impressed fans with consistently strong models such as the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1. Through the iconic reimagining of the Swoosh branding (known as the reverse Swoosh), as well as distinctive design elements, the shoe has established itself as collaborative force to be reckoned with, well received by sneaker enthusiasts globally.
Revival of the ‘84 Nike Mac Attack OG aside – there may be another rendition on the horizon, and this time, the ball is in Travis Scott’s court. The rapper was recently photographed in a neck-breaking pair of Nike Mac Attack during a performance in Miami, pictured below, leading fans to question whether these will be a legitimate release from the collaborative pairing. Appearing visually similar to the OG’s, but with Scott’s reverse Swoosh branding, both parties have yet to comment on the collaboration. Is this Travis blessed Mac Attack going to be exclusive for friends & family, or will they be the next hottest drop? We really hope it’s the latter!
