One Piece Characters Take Over the PUMA Suede

Widely renowned for being one of the most read manga franchises of all time, One Piece is collaborating with PUMA for a four piece capsule that you don’t want to miss. 

Adored for its whimsical plot and artistic direction, the Japanese series has cemented its place in anime subculture’s hall of fame, even receiving its own Netflix live-action remake last year. With the first episode premiering on 20th October 1999, One Piece has now accumulated over 1097 instalments. So, if you’re been looking for a series to binge watch, we reckon this one will probably tide you over. Exploring the persona of four different characters within the capsule – Luffy, Blackbeard, Shanks and Buggy – the PUMA Suede adopts a comic-esque aesthetic. Let’s get stuck into the details!

A Closer Look at the One Piece x PUMA Suede Sneakers…

Starting off with none other than the protagonist, Luffy’s pair boast a cloudy-white exterior that feels as bright and optimistic as his persona. Adorned with a hair-like formstripe that pays homage to the character’s Gear 5 form, the iteration is decked out with on-theme quirks. Moving on to a palette that’s quite the visual contrast, Blackbeard’s Suede takes on a more regal approach – with a black and gold fashioning referring to his admiral jacket. 

Craving some colour? The Buggy colourway brings it in abundance, sporting a hairy red upper that compliments a spiky blue formstripe. And last but not least, the Shanks iteration comes in hot, flaunting intricate detailing that makes for a solid look. Dressed in a maroon hue that reflects the character’s hair (and a significant three-scratch embellishment adjacent to the heel), PUMA have got this one spot on.
