Kith is Next to Take on the New Balance 1906R

Returning to shake up the sneaker scene once again, Kith takes on the New Balance 1906R.

We all know that Kith and New Balance can make a sick shoe. It’s in their DNA. From the 990v6 ‘Madison Square Garden’, to the ‘Pistachio’ 993, to the ‘Colourist Blue Toe’ 1700… and the list really does go on. However, there’s a model that’s yet to receive a visit from Ronnie Fieg, the 1906R, and this is changing very soon. Revealed within the US fashion label’s recent Spring 2024 lookbook, two tonal palettes of the model have since been confirmed – and they’re everything we’d imagine and more. 

A Closer Look at the Kith x New Balance 1906R…

Working across light and dark colour schemes, these 1906R’s seamlessly boast the brand’s distinctively versatile aesthetic. Starting with the ‘Cream’ iteration, a clean white mesh base sets the tone for cream accents to enter across the synthetic leather upper. The silhouette’s intricate construction sees hits of metallic silver throughout and blue within the exterior heel cage, accentuating the stealthy y2k vibes that the 1906R exudes. 

As for its dark counterpart, deep tones of green, black and burgundy work in unison throughout the exterior, for a moody aesthetic. Injecting a touch of elegance, gold detailing seamlessly trickles through the upper, standing prominently at the toe box. Representing the timeless appeal of both collaborators, co-branding is delicately incorporated into the tongue and insole.
