In 2023, Nike significantly impacted the sneaker scene with the highly anticipated AJ4 ‘Pine Green’ release, contributing to the flourishing collaboration between Nike SB and Jordan Brand. As a results of this launch’s success, expectations rose for another exciting release. The spotlight initially fell on the Nike SB x Air Jordan 4 ‘Wear Test Sample’, which appeared poised to carry that success forward. However, recent developments suggest that these speculations are no longer valid.
Professional skateboarder Eric Koston revealed a Wear Test Sample of the Nike SB x AJ4 in a ‘Black Cat’ colour scheme in the summer of 2022. As you can imagine, public release was widely anticipated. However, it was later revealed that this sneaker was just a wear test sample to perfect the details of the ‘Pine Green’. Until recently, the model remained hidden from the public eye after its trial phase.
The enigmatic sneaker was brought to light recently by sneaker enthusiast @englishsole, who shared detailed images on Instagram. The sneaker features the iconic 1989 Air Jordan 4 silhouette, rubber wings, and a substantial tongue, similar to the Pine Green colourway. It’s sole difference? A predominantly suede skin and all-black colour palette.
We’re sorry to disappoint, but according to recent reports, this trainer won’t be releasing publicly in the future. Fortunately, Jordan Brand fans will find a range of offerings via the banner below to soften disappointment! Shop the latest from Jordan Brand via the banner below…
