Twenty years after Cars first sent Lightning McQueen down Route 66, Crocs is marking the anniversary by finally putting him in the colour he always wanted. The new Lightning McQueen Dinoco Crocband Clog swaps the racer's usual red for blue.
The colour swap isn't random. In the original film, McQueen spends most of the story dreaming of ditching his underdog sponsor Rust-eze for a shot at racing for Dinoco, the sleek blue-and-white outfit reserved for racing royalty. This clog is Crocs' nod to that daydream, and it follows a run of Cars collabs that leaned on a molded, car-shaped silhouette instead.

Up close, the details hold up. McQueen's windshield-eyed face sits front and centre, his number 95 rides the side panel, and an oversized spoiler juts out from the heel strap. A Dinoco-branded take on the classic Crocs logo tops it off, while faux tire tread and wheel detailing keep the racing theme going underfoot. As with any Crocband, there's room for 22 Jibbitz charms if you want to customise further.

The Lightning McQueen Dinoco Crocband Clog drops 16 September for €74.99 / £74.99, in unisex sizing from 36-37 through 43-44. It'll be available directly via Crocs.
