Returning for another progressive collaboration, Converse reunites with Brooklyn-based designer Martine Ali for a silhouette like no other, the Chuck 70 XXHi.
Following the debut of the collaborative Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge back in December, Martine Ali is back to push another boundary-pushing silhouette. Making big waves in the industry for her trailblazing jewellery creations, Ali has gained mass recognition for straying away from the norm. The Chuck 70XXHi (- the brainchild of a classic and Ali’s creative mind), challenges the conventions of a Converse sneaker whilst honouring its iconic legacy. Arriving alongside a range of versatile apparel, we can guarantee that this collection will go down a treat with fashion pioneers. Yes, get ready to see it all over your FYP.
“The pair leverage their position at the forefront of empowering bold style to drive limitless self-expression via Martine’s lens of future-forward design” – Converse.
Admittedly, at a first glance, the shoe at hand doesn’t scream Chuck 70. But that’s why we love it. Several buckles adorn the 14-inch knee-high silhouette, injecting Martine Ali’s grunge aesthetic into the offering whilst nodding to the golden age of y2k. Flaunting a fashion-forward canvas of washed black denim, the Chuck 70 XXHi also features a monochromatic Chuck patch, midsole, laces, and toecap. Of course, the shoe had to pay homage to Ali’s jewellery-centred legacy, utilising press studs and stitched accents that encourage personalisation.
