Nike is taking us right back for its latest heritage-driven release. Rumour from Paris Fashion Week has it, the brand is set to unleash a Nike Air Max 95 ‘Black Tongue’ Pack.

For now, we have seen 4 different colourways, all with colour palettes that we already know and love from the Air Max 95’s past. And who knows, there might be even more!

All the pairs cleverly subvert the traditional design by implementing a bold black tongue, a feature that sharply cuts through the upper to create an eye-catching contrast and an instantly recognisable profile.

Some of you might know, for others we have this special fact: An early Air Max 95 prototype was photographed with designer Sergio Lozano in the 1990s and this one featured a similar look. That sample later became the reference point for the mita sneakers x Nike Air Max 95 ‘Ueno Prototype’, a highly limited release from 2013.

The overarching theme of dark, shadowy accents is seamlessly carried through to the solid black midsoles, which serve to perfectly frame and highlight the enlarged, contrasting Air windows that give this pack even more historical weight.

The look is then rounded off with classic Nike branding hits subtly positioned on the heel and tongue, ensuring that the silhouette’s timeless identity remains firmly intact whilst still feeling remarkably fresh. Otherwise, we get all the features we know and love from the Air Max 95 silhouette.

How about the Drop Date?
