Nike has improved its production processes and corporate culture through the 'Move To Zero' initiative, and one aspect of this is the release of environmentally friendly and sustainable footwear. The 'Next Nature' series has a Swoosh wheel emblem on the tongue and/or inside lining and is composed of at least 20% recycled material by weight.

A newer model, the Nike Free Terra Vista 'Goldtone' - Next Nature, not only blends athletic and lifestyle aesthetics, but is also available in a sustainable version. The majority of the bright and dark hues of canvas, leather, and mesh upper are mustard yellow, with navy blue accents on the Swoosh and heel. The blue heel contrast continues the Nike Grind material's speckles in bigger, more vibrant details, much like they do in the white/ran midsole and outsole.
