Some people may feel alone on Valentine's Day, but don't worry—your true match is out there. According to the deeply ingrained East Asian superstition known as the "red string of fate," each person's pinky finger is connected to an unseen thread that points them in the direction of their intended partner.
Nike's recently unveiled Dunk Low "Valentine's Day" sneakers are a nod to this mythos. The sneaker itself is rather simple, with muted hues, but the insoles depict the story of the red string of fate, which is about two hands joined by an invisible thread. The next tongue label's Swoosh is also encircled by the same string.Â
