Introducing the Nike SFB
Nike’s SFB line, first introduced in 2009, was born from a mid-2000s project to create a tough, high-performance boot designed for demanding environments. Drawing on co-founder Bill Bowerman’s military service in the 10th Mountain Division, the SFB blends durability, agility, and comfort into a modern utility boot.
The build combines a lightweight woven polyester upper with synthetic leather overlays for resilience, a quick-drying shell for wet conditions, and sticky rubber lugs for reliable traction. Added protection comes from a thermoplastic forefoot shield against punctures and abrasion, while the flexible sole is engineered to move naturally with the foot, offering support without sacrificing mobility.
