Introducing the Nike Air Max 270
First released on 1 February 2018, the Nike Air Max 270 is the brand's first lifestyle Air Unit sneaker, and its designed by inspired by several models from the archives.
The signature upper was developed by designer Marie Odinot, and is said to be inspired by the Air Max 180. With a 32mm heel, the model was given the largest Air unit of any Air Max until the Air Max 720 came along. It was given its name from the internal Nike nickname for the Air Max 93, which referred to the 270-degree visible Air Unit.
Interestingly, the first appearance of the AM270 was actually on NBA superstar Kevin Durant, who wore them during warm-ups for several NBA games. AS Durant was a size EU 55/UK 18, Nike had to custom make the sneaker as the largest Air Max 270 ever.
