Introducing the Air Jordan 22
The Air Jordan 22, released in 2007, marked a notable evolution in the Air Jordan line, merging advanced technology with a design inspired by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.
Its sleek and aggressive silhouette, featuring sharp lines and a dynamic heel counter, evokes the stealth and speed of its aerospace muse. The AJ22 incorporated the Independent Podular Suspension (IPS) system, enabling players to customise their cushioning with interchangeable Zoom Air or encapsulated Air pods, tailored to individual playing styles. A titanium shank plate added extra midfoot support and stability.
Although Michael Jordan had already retired, the AJ22 was showcased on-court by NBA stars like Ray Allen and Rip Hamilton, demonstrating its performance capabilities.
