Beth Birkett Gibb, the wife of Union LA founder Chris Gibbs, established the Los Angeles-based company. Beth works to support females in the fashion industry, and she has done so with the WMNS Air Jordan 7.

The shoe is similar to Nike's ACG series. There are several design cues on the shoe that allude to Nike's outdoor aesthetic. The top has a unique collar and is coloured in the 'Sanddrift' shade. The orange accents on the toecap and top create a pleasant contrast with the light colour scheme.
