This great YEEZY SEASON 1 lookbook has been produced by our friends over at END CLOTHING, who will be stocking the whole range.
For Autumn/Winter 2015, Kanye West and adidas are unveiling a collection of apparel and footwear that is designed to cherish universality and timelessness. Described by the man himself as the world’s first “solutions-based” clothing line, each of the individual pieces define a style that matches the relentless pace of contemporary lives. “I don’t want the clothes to be the life,” he says. “I want the clothes to help the life.” The idea behind the collection is to absolve consumers of dressing’s daily stress by creating a line of essentials that can be easily combined in infinite ways — “like Legos,” he says. This has resulted in stripped-down, comfortable and unpretentious clothes for the “modern jet-set couple,” – pieces that can be worn from the gym, to the office, to a meeting, to the airport and everywhere in between. All of the pieces can be layered together and worn haphazardly with a kind of un-precious cool: the YEEZY pieces present all the elements of modern dressing.
Kanye has designed the silhouettes based predominantly on his own personal style, with considered volume—billowing and oversize on top, whilst things are kept tight and trim around the bottom. The collection adheres to a subtle yet evocative colour scheme of camel, olive, chocolate brown, blue-grey, and camouflage, with injections of bright cranberry to brighten things up a little. This mostly neutral palette allows for limitless combinations and makes it foolproof, easy and ready to wear.
The men’s collection features oversized sweats with distressed edges and worn, puckered hems, shearling bomber jackets, camouflage parkas and separates, military sweaters with distressed tears and canvas patches and slick long parkas with faux fur trim.
The highlights of the women’s collection include shimmering MA-1 bomber jackets, military parkas, cropped shearling jackets with exaggerated extra-long sleeves, quilted and belted nylon vests with a body-con emphasis and perfectly-cut cotton separates designed to be worn day-in, day-out. “This is a challenge to where fashion is currently — a new feminine ideal,” West says, explaining the curve-hugging pieces.
The collection also offers a large selection of unisex pieces, such as thermal tees, sweatpants and both short and long-sleeve sweaters. It is these garments that provide the foundation for the YEEZY wardrobe.
