Dropping Today: Nike x Virgil Abloh’s ‘The Ten’ Releases at Nike.com

Running rampant through some of Nike’s most iconic models, Virgil Abloh makes dreams a reality with The Ten series – a collaborative exploration of 10 crucial silhouettes from the Nike and Converse back catalogue. The Ten is a slow release collaboration that will consist of two phases, titled “REVEALING” and “GHOSTING.” Kicking off proceedings with the “REVEALING” drop, Abloh presents a deconstructed and accessible hand cut spin on the AIR JORDAN 1, NIKE BLAZER, NIKE AIR PRESTO, NIKE AIR MAX 90, and NIKE AIR VAPORMAX, using an X-ACTO knife to reveal the foam on tongues, moving branding details, and slightly skewing the Swoosh placements for subtle differences in their instantly recognisable designs.

The second drop of the series, “GHOSTING,” followed the first, taking shape in a variety of translucent uppers to further unite the more varied range of selected silhouettes on offer, which includes the NIKE ZOOM FLY SP, NIKE AIR FORCE 1 LOW, NIKE REACT HYPERDUNK 2017, and NIKE AIR MAX 97. A special edition of the CONVERSE CHUCK TAYLOR will arrive in early 2018.

We’ll let the official images from Nike do most of the talking, but the collaboration speaks volumes without doing much at all: pairing Abloh’s pure passion for the brand with his ability to create a stripped back and unique take on ten footwear icons.

The first wave of THE TEN collection dropped back in September, selling out immediately (as you might have predicted), followed by another, wider drop at other retailers (which was just as popular).
