Hiroshi Fujiwara has long been the silent architect of streetwear’s most coveted grails, you could say. However, as we move into March 2026, the owner of Fragment Design is trading his signature colour-blocking for a white-lab-coat approach. In a departure from the retro-heavy collaborations of the past, Nike and fragment design have officially unveiled their ‘Concept Testing’ project. This includes a trio of silhouettes that lean into neuroscience, computational data, and the future of recovery.
We’re talking about the Fragment Design x Nike Air Max Liquid, as well as the Fragment Design x Nike Mind 001 and 002. Let’s check all the details!
The latest link-up between fragment design and the Swoosh isn’t about looking back; it’s a full-on dive into the future of “Concept Testing.” If you thought you knew what a Fragment collab looked like, think again.

The core of this drop is the Mind Series. This design isn’t just about aesthetics, because it’s a project rooted in neuroscience. The line is designed with athlete recovery in mind; these pieces are built to help you dial in or chill out before and after a session. Read more here about the Nike Mind designs in general.
Now, let’s see how Hiroshi Fujiwara takes on this design: The Nike Slide 001 by fragment comes in an almost all-black look, with the signature fragment design print on the side, as well as the pods in the sole in his well-known blue.
The Nike Mind 002 Sneaker has been given a sleek grey as well as, again, a black iteration with blue elements. Whether you’re opting for the slip-on ease of the 001 Slide or the techy look of the 002 Sneaker, you’re getting a design that’s been literally mapped out to support the brain and body.

The real showstopper, however, might be the Air Liquid Max. This brand new silhouette from Nike also gets the Fragment treatment, featuring a dark black vibe. This is also where the “Concept Testing” gets loud. It’s a technical beast that translates raw computational data into something you can actually wear on the street.
Expect a silhouette that looks like it’s been pulled straight out of a Tokyo design lab: minimalist, data-driven, and purely Fragment.

The Air Max Liquid silhouette will also debut in an Apple Green colourway on Air Max Day 2026. Read more on all of that here.

The Fragment Design x Nike Mind 001 and 002 styles will be launching globally on March 19, 2026, while the Fragment Design x Nike Air Liquid Max ‘Black’ is set to drop on April 3, 2026. All styles will be available via SNKRS and selected retailers. There is also a drop through fragment design itself a bit earlier.
