So, what happens when Union LAs deconstructed vintage aesthetic meets the minimalist precision of Hiroshi Fujiwara from Fragment Design? And all of it placed on a Jordan silhouette?

You get a sneaker design that breathes history while setting a brand-new benchmark. We think: the ‘Varsity Red & Sport Royal’ isn’t just another colourway, it’s a masterclass in storytelling.

Using the time-honoured ‘Black Toe’ foundation as a canvas, the design seamlessly blends the identities of both partners. We see Fragments ‘Sport Royal’ on the heel and outsole is an instant nod to the holy-grail AJ1 from 2014. In sharp, yet harmonious contrast, the ankle collar features ‘Varsity Red’ which is a direct tribute to the Union LA Jordan 1 in that colour.

As always, the magic is in the details. Union’s signature chunky zig-zag stitching joins the mismatched elements, while the yellow ‘UN/LA’ tag and the embossed Fragment lightning bolt logo at the heel cement its legendary status. Premium tumbled leather and an ‘aged’ midsole give the pair that coveted vintage feel straight out of the box.

How about the Drop Date?

After months of speculation and teasers on Hiroshi Fujiwara’s own feet, the drop is finally within reach. Get your calendars marked for 28 February 2026. The Union LA x Fragment Design x Air Jordan 1 High OG will be landing via Nike (SNKRS) and a selection of retailers. Given the sheer scale of this project, most stores will be running raffles.
