Paying homage to the basketball goat Michael Jordan, the Air Jordan 4 Frozen Moments makes its mark with an icy palette. Fun fact: the name ‘Frozen Moments’ of the silhouette draws inspiration from a 1997 Nike advertisement. The ad exhibited Michael Jordan’s most memorable NBA moments throughout his career. The campaign translated how it felt to watch the basketball legend play, inspiring this frosty iteration of the Air Jordan 4 that also launched in ’97.
Flaunting an exterior as clean as MJ’s gameplay, this iteration adopts a neutral palette of grey and white. A polished leather base sets the tone, garnished with a suede “Light Iron Ore” upper and shiny “Neutral Grey” mudguard.
“Metallic Silver” support wings capture our attention immediately, conveying the glacial bravado that this iteration oozes. This chrome frosting is carried into the lacing system’s accents, setting the Frozen Moment apart from its AJ4 predecessors. The heel badge takes form in a durable leather, whilst tongue branding sits proudly in a white hue atop black “Flight” calligraphy.
The Air Jordan 4’s 35th birthday is nearly upon us, and Jumpman haven’t held back on hyped releases. The ‘Red Cement’ model is due to drop this year, accompanied by rumours of the OG ‘Military Blue’‘s return. Stay locked on our socials @thedropdate for the latest updates as and when we have them.
