Revamping a Swoosh classic straight outta the ‘90s vault – we’ve got a first look at the Supreme x Nike SB Air Darwin Low.
If we’re discussing the revival of OG silhouettes, it goes without saying that cult streetwear giant Supreme does it best. Vault bangers like the Nike Air Tailwind IV, Air Bakin and SB Gato have all endured Supreme’s creative reimagining, met to a sought-after response from sneaker connoisseurs. Following recent news of the unreleased monochromatic Nike Courtposite, the iconic alliance now turn their attention to the Air Darwin Low – approaching the ‘94 basketball sneaker from a skate-oriented perspective.
Differing from the OG which adopted both a leather high-top and canvas low top silhouette, this contemporary iteration embraces elements from both. Arriving with a high-top canvas exterior, the Nike SB Air Darwin Low takes notes from skate shoes for a dynamic edge. Boasting a pristine ivory hue across the woven upper, ‘Polar Blue’ accents grace the eyelets, reverse leather Swoosh and Supreme branding. Black hits flood the midsole and insole lining, perfectly contrasting the light hues within the upper.
If the word on the sneaker street is anything to go by, we’re expecting these kicks to be pretty exclusive. We’re talking 6,500 pairs, in three colourways of black, white and cam. Although we can’t completely confirm or deny this rumour just yet, we know by now that any collaboration from the streetwear label is due to fly off the shelves quicker than you can say “Supreme x Nike SB Air Darwin Low”!
