PUMA collaborates with INSIDE TAG to launch the Mostro UR

PUMA is teaming up with archivist and collector INSIDE TAG to bring back the iconic Mostro in a special edition – the PUMA Mostro UR. Blending nostalgia with fresh textures, the collab will drop in two colourways.

The PUMA Mostro UR is the brainchild of George Roy Roberts, founder of INSIDE TAG. A collector, archivist, and vintage seller with a deep passion for sneakers and design, Roberts uses his platform @inside.tag to spotlight iconic – and sometimes delightfully odd – creations, including the legendary PUMA Mostro.

The PUMA Mostro UR reimagines the iconic silhouette that first appeared in the 2000s. ‘UR’ stands for ‘original’ in German, a nod to the design’s roots. Originally crafted by Peter Schmid, this version was meant to be the first-ever Mostro, but history had other plans, and a different iteration made it to shelves first.

Fast forward to 2024, and the model made a comeback with the aggressive sole of the UR version, making this the most faithful recreation yet. INSIDE TAG has also added some modern tweaks to better align with today’s style.

As for colourways, they each tell a story. The ‘White/Orange’ pair takes inspiration from the Sony Ericsson Walkman W810i – the very phone Roberts had in his younger days – giving it a nostalgic yet versatile feel. Meanwhile, the ‘Purple/Brown’ edition is a love letter to nature, built for those who like their sneakers with a hint of hiking spirit.

To mark the launch, END. is turning its London store into an interactive space that brings INSIDE TAG’s archiving and design process to life. The PUMA Mostro UR Communication drops at END. on Saturday, 29th March 2025 – don’t miss it!
