ORIGINAL ARTICLE 03/10/2024: Following undisputed hype surrounding their recent Air Max 1 ‘Chlorophyll’, we’ve caught a glimpse of the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 ‘Waves’.

Before we talk about the shoe in question, let’s take a quick look at how the ‘Waves’ design came into fruition. Initially spotted in 2021 on the Air Max 1, Patta’s wavy take demanded attention from sneaker enthusiasts – so much so that it continued to thrive in the alliance’s lineage from that point forward. Since then, we’ve seen a flurry of rippled iterations enter the scene, championing a unique edge that pays homage to the remarkable synergy of the Patta x Nike union. Continuing this legacy into 2025, let’s take a peek at what’s up next.

A Closer Look at the Patta x Nike Air Max 90 ‘Waves’…

There’s no official imagery just yet, so we’re going off a speculative mock-up (thanks House of Heat!). Going from this image, we can expect a slur of pale orange hues across the construction, similar to the initial ‘Monarch’ release. Utilising lots of panelling throughout the exterior, each segment is differentiated through a tonal grey palette, other than the Swoosh and signature wave mudguard. Landing as Patta’s first spin on the Air Max 90, this is sure to be a certified hit.
