Nike is giving the popular LD-1000 a lace makeover this summer. With the increasing trend of retro or “grandma sneakers”, this silhouette delivers on that promise.
Nike is bringing back one of its vintage gems, the LD-1000; this time in a sleek new women’s exclusive Pearl/Light Bone colourway. It was first introduced in 1977 as a high-performance running shoe. The LD-1000 makes its 2025 comeback as part of Nike’s commitment to blending heritage design with modern-day appeal.
The ‘Soft Pearl’ edition showcases a soft jacquard upper in muted pearl tones, accented with Light Bone suede details along the eye stays, heel, and toe. A unique lace charm and lace-inspired overlays add a feminine, vintage flair to the classic silhouette.
While it shares similarities with other retro runners like the Nike Cortez, the LD-1000 carves out its own niche with a more sculpted profile and its bold, textured outsole. The main event of the model is the waffle outsole, ensuring traction and grip.
The Nike LD-1000 Pearl/Light Bone colourway will be dropping this Summer 2025 on the Nike official website.
In the meantime be sure to follow the Drop Date release calendar for updates on release details.
