The NIKE AIR MAX 97 BY YOU gets a refresh this season, presenting one of the most recognisable models in the Air Max series as a canvas for you to get creative once again.

The original release of the Nike Air Max 97 turned a few heads when it first dropped over two decades ago. Christian Tresser’s striking design was long-thought to have been inspired by Japan’s high-speed Bullet trains, but the actual spark came from studying mountain bikes. With its multiple contours and curves that give the shoe a true feeling of speed and momentum, the 97 is best known for its original silver incarnation – but it’s also a perfect shoe for the Nike By You platform. As you’d expect, all of the main sections and panels can be customised to your taste: you can dress the uppers, tint the air bubble and colour the midsole, just to name a few of the many options. For a finishing flourish, you can also add a personal touch by adding some text or an appropriate logo on the heel panel – the world 97 is your oyster!
