Nike Air Max 1 Low Poly ‘Big Head Mode’ Is Dropping

Following the pixel-perfect success of the ‘Adventure’ and ‘Donkey Kong’ colourways, Nike is now rolling out the Air Max 1 Low Poly ‘Big Head Mode’, and it’s a nod to none other than GoldenEye 007 – the legendary 1997 Nintendo 64 game.

Set to release on 7 April 2025 at 3:00 PM sharp via the SNKRS app, this latest pair is more than just a shoe – it’s a blast from the gaming past.

The name ‘Big Head Mode’ comes from a classic cheat code in GoldenEye 007 that gave all characters hilariously oversized heads, making them an easier target. Nike’s .SWOOSH campaign is running full steam ahead with this nostalgic theme, and we’re totally here for it.

The colour palette of the sneaker is a nod to Bond: black and white to mirror 007’s iconic tuxedo, with dashes of gold that tip the hat to the infamous Golden Gun. As with the previous Low Poly releases, the design boasts blocky, pixel-style details on the upper, giving it that retro-gaming aesthetic we’re loving.

This latest entry joins the wildly popular ‘Adventure’, inspired by Lara Croft, and the pixelated ‘Big Head Origins’, with a clear nod to Donkey Kong. It’s safe to say Nike’s Low Poly line is absolutely smashing it right now, blending nostalgia and street style in all the right ways.
