After almost 2 decades of waiting, the Nike Air Jordan 5 Burgundy is making an iconic return for the first time in Nike history. Previously recognised as a basketball OG, this rebirth arrives as part of Jumpman‘s lifestyle series, intended for casualwear rather than shooting hoops. 

Let’s take it back to the 2000’s. Notably, models such as the Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 4 were quickly becoming cult classics amongst UK sneakerheads. The distinctive suede design of the Air Jordan 5 ‘Burgundy’ gained mass hype surrounding the model. And it was all down to the sneaker’s uniqueness and imitability. Today, the AJ5 has secured collaborations with some of the biggest players in streetwear like Supreme and Off-White; deemed as one of Michael Jordan’s most reputable sneakers to date. 

The Nike Air Jordan 5 Burgundy exhibits a ‘Deep Burgundy’ hue across all core components of the silhouette. A cement grey adopts breathable mesh panels within the sidewalls, allowing comfort through ventilation. In typical Air Jordan 5 form, the iteration comes adorned with an enlarged tongue, embedded with a Burgundy Jumpman logo. The tongue boasts a shiny silver shade, in unison with a woven emblem on the heel. 

Fighter-jet-inspired detailing takes form on the midsole, adorned with classic Nike Air Technology. A frosty blue outsole rounds-off the iteration, composed of partially-transparent rubber.
