Kids of Immigrants Puts Its Spin on the Nike Air Max Sunder SP

After much anticipation as to when the Nike Air Max Sunder would return, the silhouette is finally en route with the help of friends at Kids of Immigrants. 

Ever since we caught a glimpse of the Air Max Sunder during the Nike SNKRS Showcase, we’ve been very excited to see what the Swoosh has in-store. Debuting over two decades ago in 1999, this streamlined sneaker has come far from its cross-trainer heritage. Beyond its striking appearance, the Sunder is full of advanced features for a smooth experience, making it much more than just a visually appealing shoe. 

Sharing this mutual appreciation, streetwear label Kids of Immigrants are taking the opportunity to give the archival silhouette its flowers, via three distinctive offerings. Let’s see what they’re saying!

A Closer Look at the Kids of Immigrants x Nike Air Max Sunder SP…

Initially teased by our boy FDFromTheFuture, the collaborative venture boasts a gridded overlay where an immaculately sleek upper once graced the exterior. Painting a vision that feels slightly trippy, the palette moves from blue, to dark purple and hot pink, in a flourishing gradient finish that accentuates the shape. Inviting a dark contrast, a black outer and dark grey suede toe box ground the upper, only to be illuminated again with hits of bright orange within the branding and aglet. 

And the Sunder buzz doesn’t stop there. Followed by a second colourway that rocks a striking orange-yellow fashioning, this sneaker exudes the same energy as the first, in an even more eye-catching manner. As well as the two bright kicks, an immaculate monochrome colourway also joins the clan, looking like something meticulously crafted from a white stone. At this point in time, it’s uncertain to tell whether these editions will be reaching the shelves. Frustrating we know, but we can only hope!
