Issey Miyake Presents the New Balance MT10O

In yet another stunning fusion of sneakers and high fashion, Issey Miyake x New Balance joins forces for the first time to present the MT10O.

When it comes to footwear trends, it often feels like we’ve seen it all. From chunky silhouettes, to more sleek, low-profile personas, each year we’re sure to see something different emerging on our algorithms. And now, as we slowly diverge from models like the Samba and get more on board with YZY Pods-esque footwear, it’s safe to say that we’re entering the era of the flat silhouette. 

That being said, who better to plunge us into this trend than Issey Miyake and New Balance? Emerging on the scene within the Japanese designers SS24 showcase, three sleek kicks opt for an airy and lightweight feel. Deriving from the New Balance MT10 (part of the brand’s Minimus runner series, aiming to emulate a barefoot-like experience for wearers), it really doesn’t get sleeker than this.

A Closer Look at the Issey Miyake x New Balance MT10O…

Expressing three monochromatic palettes of ‘Black’, ‘White’ and ‘Blue Green’, the capsule puts an Issey Miyake twist on the sophisticated shoe. Preserving the compressed essence of the model, the collaboration seamlessly captures the label’s innovative yet minimalist aesthetic. Showcasing a predominantly leather upper (premium, of course), mesh enters at the tongue and toe-box for a lightweight construction. 

Looking towards the lower, things are flat as a pancake. However, there’s no compromise on grip, with a moulded Vibram rubber to keep optimal traction,
