ORIGINAL ARTICLE 27/02/24: Over the years, adidas has released several tributes to the legendary Bob Marley. One notable collaboration dates back to 2008, when adidas teamed up with Marley’s renowned record label, Tuff Gong, for a special collab. Then in 2021, adidas dropped the adidas Samba with a reggae twist. A collab with the Dutch football club AFC Ajax.

Jumping ahead to 2024, adidas is officially teaming up with the Bob Marley estate for the first time ever. They’re set to release the Bob Marley x adidas SL 72, paying a huge tribute to the artist. Inspired by an old pic of Marley rocking the OG SL 72 kicks, this collab brings together Marley’s timeless style and adidas’s fresh designs.

Picture it – a slick, all-black sneaker with hints of premium leather and subtle nods to Marley’s Rastafarian roots. Now, check out the midsole, which boasts the vibrant colours of the Rastafarian flag: green, gold, and red.
