The ADIDAS MAKERLAB initiative gives three specially selected designers a unique opportunity to showcase their creativity. For this latest instalment of the project, London’s Helen Kirkum and Alex Nash joined Shun Hirose of Japanese boutique Recouture to reimagine the classic Campus 80s.
Over the course of ten days, the three designers armed themselves with inspiration and ideas and travelled to the adidas HQ in Germany. From there, they worked on their concepts with the adidas team, before heading over to one of the brand’s factories in Vietnam to oversee the production of their designs. The classic Campus 80 provided the ideal canvas, resulting in three very different designs that encapsulate the project and its ethos perfectly. For more information about each of the individual designs, visit the Instagram accounts of the creatives involved: Alex Nash (@alexnash187), Helen Kirkham (@helenkirkhamstudio) and Shun Hirose (@recouture__).
To make things fair, the MakerLab designs are being released through StockX IPO, giving true fans the opportunity to buy the shoes for a price that they think is reasonable. In order to get your pair, simply pick your favourite of the three designs, select the size you want and then place a bid for a price that you’re willing to pay. This bid will be completely blind: StockX will then announce the Clearing Price and notify winners once the IPO closes.
The three ADIDAS MAKERLAB Campus 80s designs release on WEDNESDAY 16 OCTOBER: click the banner below to check the release page at STOCKX and get involved before it’s too late…
