Central Cee x Nike

UPDATE 17/10/2024: If you’ve been keeping your ear to the ground, you’ll know that the whispers surrounding rapper Central Cee teaming up with Nike have been doing the rounds for a while. Well, the word is finally out! The British artist confirmed the collaboration with a cheeky post on Instagram, teaming up with JD Sports, which suggests we might be in for an exclusive with the retailer.

In his IG post, he dropped a clip featuring a baby version of himself – adorably dubbed ‘baby Cench’ – sporting a pair of Air Max 95s and rocking a flashy gold chain. Additionally sporting a beanie from Syna World (Cench’s clothing line), it’s clear that a dynamic three-way partnership is on the cards, and we’re not mad about it!

As for the sneakers themselves, some images of the colourway have already surfaced. From what we can see, it’s a sleek dark grey number with a black sole and pops of orange detailing. But before you get too excited, there’s still no word on when we can expect the Central Cee x Nike Air Max 95 to drop officially.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE 06/03/2024: If you’re locked into the UK Rap scene, then you’ll most likely recognise the name Central Cee. Whether you know him from catchy tunes like Doja and Sprinter, or have seen him getting nominated for Artist of the Year at the recent BRIT Awards, the North London rapper’s impact is quite undeniable. With his career skyrocketing into mainstream media, guess what’s happening in 2024? None other than a collaboration with the sneaker GOAT, aka Nike.

Straight outta Shepherd’s Bush, Central Cee has been making big moves in the rap game, snagging over 10 million IG followers along the way. With his unique style and growing fame, he’s caught the attention of some big names. Back in 2023, he even linked up with JD Sports for their Christmas Advert:

Central Cee x Nike Collaboration Pending?

Fast forward to March 2024, and Central Cee has caught the Swoosh’s eye too. Like many UK rappers, Cench has always been repping Nike hard. So much so, that he turned heads at the 2023 British Fashion Awards rocking Nike joggers. Yep, joggers to a red carpet – we have to respect it! He shut down the haters on TikTok, saying: ‘I dressed like this 365 days a year I’m not changing it for one day. It’s not even my wedding day. I went there as me.‘ So, it’s no surprise they’re teaming up.

We don’t know all the details about their collab yet, but brace yourselves for a sick Nike Air Max 95 dropping in Black/Metallic, Red Bronze/Anthracite/Dusted, and Clay/Cool Grey. If the rapper’s British roots are anything to go by, you already know reflective 3M details will have a feature.

And that’s not all – Central Cee’s also bringing out a Nike Tech Fleece. A very on-brand choice, considering that he practically lives in the tracksuits. You’ve seen him flexing in them for JD, and there are even TikToks explaining how prices go through the roof when Cench wears certain colours. And his latest music video for ‘I Will’? You guessed it. Tech Fleece.

With his signature style and influence across music and fashion, this Nike collab is set to be fire. Not much info yet, but word on the street says these kicks and tracksuit will drop around the HOLIDAY SEASON 2024.
