Fans of well-designed clothing that doesn’t destroy the planet are in for a treat when the PATAGONIA THRIFT SHOP comes to London.
Patagonia is well known for its eco-friendly credentials and its outstanding apparel. And unlike many clothing labels who pay temporary lip service to the environment in order to sell more stuff, Patagonia’s entire brand is based around sustainability and minimising waste. The company advises customers on how to repair their garments to make them last longer, and even runs adverts imploring consumers not to buy any more of their jackets. Now, the brand ethos is made tangible in the form of a pop-up Thrift Shop in East London, where you can buy used Patagonia products that have been repaired and customised for a new lease of life. In addition, the company’s Worn Wear Repair Station will be on hand to repair your own products in order to extend their lifespan. In the current era of fast fashion and thoughtless consumerism, its refreshing to get a chance to fix up your old products or take over someone else’s ‘pre-loved’ favourites instead of generating yet more fodder for the landfill sites.
You can pay a visit to the PATAGONIA THRIFT SHOP at the following location and times:
VILLAGE UNDERGROUND, Great Eastern Street, London
24 NOVEMBER from 18:00 – 21:00 and 25 NOVEMBER from 09:00 – 21:00
If you’re new to the brand and want to invest in a product that’s built to last, take a look at the new Patagonia range available with SIZE? by clicking on the banner below – just be sure to repair your purchases if they ever get worn out…
