The Hummel Brand
Founded in 1923 by Max and Michael Messmer, Hummel entered the sports market with a football shoe branded as “Hummel.”
Bernhard Weckenbrock modernised the company in 1961, adding the now-iconic chevrons to its designs.
During the 1980s, under Danish ownership, Hummel gained prominence through sponsorships with teams like Real Madrid and Aston Villa.
In the 2000s, Hummel’s chevrons became a style symbol among athletes and celebrities.
Celebrating over 100 years in sport, Hummel continues to draw inspiration from its bumblebee emblem, 'defying gravity and flying'.
