Introducing Dr. Martens
Dr. Martens was born in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Märtens, recovering from an injury, designed a boot with an air-cushioned sole for superior comfort. In 1960, the British R. Griggs Group refined the design, adding signature yellow stitching, grooved soles, and a heel loop, creating the iconic Dr. Martens boot.
Originally crafted for workwear, the boots quickly became a symbol of rebellion, embraced by punk, goth, and alternative subcultures, and worn by legends like The Clash and The Who. A bold relaunch in the 2000s—featuring high-fashion collaborations—propelled the brand back into the spotlight.
Today, Dr. Martens remains a global style icon, effortlessly combining rugged durability with modern fashion, proving its timeless appeal across generations.
