DC Shoes

DC Shoes

DC Shoes was founded in 1994 in Vista by duo Damon Way and Ken Block, quickly taking over the California coast and playing a significant role in skating culture.
Created with skateboarders in mind, the silhouettes of the sneakers included wide fits, chunky tongues, and rough-and-ready designs.
DC Shoes is still a widely recognised brand within the sneaker and skater community decades after its founding.

Easily recognisable by their wide and chunky fit, DC Shoes' most popular sneaker models include the like of the Court Graffik, Stag, and Net, which are all characterised by their thick tongue.
The chunky outsole of the sneakers is intentional, providing extra grip in the halfpipe.
Premium materials including leather, nubuck and suede are used in the construction of DC Shoes' products, with foam padding in the tongue and collar adding comfort and support. Ventilation holes for breathability are another added feature.

The History of DC Shoes

At the very beginning, college friends Ken Block and Damon Way were screen printing T-shirts in 1989 together under the name Eightball.
Unfortunately that name was already claimed by another company in America at the time, so the brand was renamed Droors Clothing, and later changed again the DC Shoes.
Embraced by professional skateboarders in California, DC Shoes were an integral part of the skate scene by the late 1990s.
Rock band Linkin Park were fans of the brand, collaborating on their own DC Shoes in an Axel colorway in 2003.
The current logo of the letters D and C with a star was established in 2011.
