Sacai’s Chitose Abe worked at Comme des Garçons for eight years, before launching Sacai in 1999. Taking inspiration from her surroundings and everyday life, Sacai’s use of innovative fabric combinations and pattern techniques gives classic pieces a futuristic new look. These innovative mash-ups were spotted at Paris Fashion Week. When asked about the collaboration, Abe said, “Sacai has always been about hybridisation, so the Nike sneaker collaboration was about a hybridisation of classic Nikes with new models with double tongues, double shoelaces and double swooshes”. As Frankenshoes go, these are definitely at the top of the stack and we expect them to be very popular when they eventually release.
