After over two decades of waiting, the NIKE AIR FORCE 1 JEWEL will finally be hitting stores this weekend. The Air Force 1 has been in a constant in the top pickings of Nike’s lifestyle models since its inception in 1986. The first basketball shoe to feature a cupsole, it has stayed true to its original form, with the most notable AF1 variation being the alternate Jewel branding. A rare gem, the Jewel Swoosh was last seen in its true and pure form in 1996, but it did make a brief appearance two years ago, taking shape on CLOT’s varsity inspired Nike Lunar Force 1 collab. Returning for an eagerly awaited release this weekend across the Air Force 1 Low and Mid, the Jewel is given premium NikeLab-style treatments and will be available in three colorways: off-white, cargo khaki, and pearl pink. Scaling down on the usual Air Force 1 branding, the Jewel makes for second glimpses, assuming its alternate raised and pearlescent bubble Swoosh over clean leather uppers over the thick-set trademark AF1 sole.
