When Tinker Hatfield designed in the Air Max 90 (originally as the Air Max III) way back in 1990 – he didn’t just design a shoe – he kickstarted a footwear revolution. Now, three decades later, we’re still celebrating that exact model, but as always, the swoosh is looking to the future with the Air Max 2090. This updated option retains the original mudguard, heel logo and the prominent “cassette” Air Unit from the AM90 blueprint; only with a variety of new updates hitting the shoe. A mix of both opaque and see-through fabrications make up the upper portion, the Air Unit is enlarged, a cropped swoosh stretches down the sides, and it is even treated to an improved tread underfoot. After debuting in a selection of colourways inspired by the future of transportation, the 2090 can soon be snapped up in Black and Anthracite, which we’re sure will go down an absolute treat.
