The Shattered Backboard is an homage to Michael Jordan’s career, specifically an exhibition match in Italy where he, you guessed it, shattered a backboard during a slam dunk. The shoe’s colours match the jersey he wore at the time, which is why we suppose AJ1 hasn’t changed them, instead choosing to switch things up a little. Current NBA star Carmelo Anthony was spotted sporting a pair at New York Fashion Week, getting tongues wagging and expectations high.
