British designer JW Anderson’s collabs with Converse have quickly become a fixture on the footwear calendar, offering up something stylish and refined in a world when hype often supercedes refined taste and craftsmanship. His next instalment offers something very different to the last, serving up a new and very different silhouette, pairing a RUN STAR sole unit with an ALL STAR CHUCK 70 HI upper – resulting in the Run Star Hike. Not only a celebration of mash-up culture; the Chuck runner also explores scale and stance with a stacked saw-toothed sole changing the silhouettes usual proportions. Further hand-drawn details ensue, including a nod to the All Star’s debut year, 1917, scrawled next to the trademark circular ankle branding.
