London based designer Helen Kirkum collaborates with ASICS for their Crafts For Mind series. All profits from the sale will be donated to Right to Play, a global non-profit that works to empower children through sport in some of the most dangerous places in the world. Constructed from deadstock ASICS 1090s and post-consumer waste, this black-pink offering is a meditation on the human mind and a careful reflection of how we present ourselves to the world. Kirkum has wrapped the outer lateral panels in a secondary protective layer, while deconstructing and exposing the inner medial. It’s a statement on how we carry ourselves in life, from the outside we are encased in protective armor when on the inside we are deeply vulnerable.
