Inspired by the Tromp-l’oeil painting technique, which translates as “deceive the eye”, Raf Simons is back with another adidas collection that seamlessly blends his unique taste with some of the German brand’s most classic silhouettes. The designer pulled the MICROPACER, LA TRAINER, PEACHTREE, STAN SMITH and TORSION CONQUEST SUPER from the archive; which were photographed and 3-D modelled across the resulting RS STAN SMITH. The resulting footwear retains select details of the vintage shoes on the uppers, including stains, exposed glue, and other general wear—transporting authentic elements of the past into the now for a truly deceptive drop.
