This bold-looking edition of the popular NMD_R1 model will certainly find a few fans: it’s got a bit of everything but the end result is clean and smart and well-deserving of all three partners’ stamps of approval. Unsurprisingly perhaps, the base shoe is presented in NEIGHBORHOOD’s signature black, with contrasting white on the Boost midsole, EVA plugs and ankle collar. Lifting the embroidered tiger from classic NEIGHBORHOOD souvenir jackets, this motif represents motivation and spirit, to push the limits of endurance. To balance this spirited concept, the left heel features the Kanji character for ‘Good Fortune’, combining Asian culture and mythology tastefully on one shoe. The R1 is one of the slickest shapes on the market and this collaboration really makes the best of it.
