The Iniki Runner has been yet another success story for the adidas crew. Using this model to show a mutual keen eye for detail, the collaborators reworked the Iniki’s upper in a patchwork fashion, conveying the idea of repurposing and ever-evolving roles. Influenced by Boro denim and traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching methods for repairing denim. The revival of the Haven – a 1970s running classic – will definitely appeal to the older crowd, or those who prefer a genuine vintage retro. The same Japanese style and technique is utilised once again, but this time in the form of the 3-Stripes which feature on both sides of the upper. The gum outsole which finds itself underneath on both pairs rounds off the ‘crafted’ look and feel in true style.
